Fall fun for your students with the latest Mindsets Open Challenge!
Mindsets Open Challenges are fun and free real-world math projects for your students to try in class. They are available for a limited time.
In Farm Stay, students take a tour of a farm, count the animals and collect and organize the eggs. Students learn how to multiply and divide whole numbers as they work through the tasks during their farm tour.
Farm Stay Challenge promotes cross-curricula skills and is aligned to the following standards of mathematical practices and literacy targets.
SMP 5 — Use appropriate tools strategically.
SMP 8 — Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.1 — Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons.
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.2 — Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.
